BAMF vs. HMRC guidance

HMRC’s sector-specific Anti-Money Laundering (AML) guidance for Art Market Participants (AMPs) is awaiting ministerial sign-off. Until then, AMPs must follow the British Art Market Federation (BAMF) guidance alongside Parts 1 and 3 of HMRC’s guidance, with Part 1 taking precedence on changes introduced by the 2026 Amendment Regulations.

The event

Susan J. Mumford will open with a short presentation on which guidance applies now, key points in Part 1, and what HMRC expects of AMPs based on recent supervisory interventions. Ivan Macquisten will then moderate a conversation with Susan and Dr. Chris King on what this means in practice, followed by an open Q&A.
